Short review: A bit on the sweet side but overall quite yummy and we will probably return.
Disappointing and bland. If I order 5 star spicy then I expect it to have at least a little spice but my food had none. Ordered sweet mango sticky rice to go and it was just a chunk of refrigerated rice. They had forgotten to warm it up first.
As soon as I walked in I was greeted with the delicious smells of the food being cooked and served. I did not have to wait at all to be seated either. Service was really fast and my waiter was very on top of things.
Long Review: We had the Pad Thai (vegetarian) and Drunken Noodles (pork) with the included appetizers of an onion soup and salad. These are served individually and not family style. The food is cooked well and is quite tasty but a bit on the sweet side for me. I imagine, however, that a lot of people here will enjoy how sweet it is. My understanding of Thai food is that it typically tries to balance sweetness with sour and heat. There wasn't much sourness to this at all. We also did a "5" on the heat scale (5 is hottest) and it tasted very mild to me but I am used to super spicy food. Ana Andrus said it had a little "bite" to it but ultimately mild.
Decor is decent and the setting is casual and clean. Service was speedy and polite. Prices are moderate to expensive. The cuisine includes Japanese dishes in addition to Thai which we have yet to try.
Absolutely love the the food! Our server Sawyer was extremely helpful and courteous. We will be back!
The onion soup was a very simple broth with fried onions and some mushrooms. The salad was dressed with a citrus orange creme dressing. Not very exciting but I believe that are just supposed to prepare your palate for the upcoming main dishes. It didn't seem to match very well in my opinion though.
I'd say it is the best choice for restaurants in Stephanville. The 3 stars are in comparison to Thai food restaurants in Houston or DFW that have a lot more choices of dishes.
