The flaws I noticed in this hotel were primarily structural: They were re-tiling the floors in front of the elevator, presumably because the floor had shifted and cracked the tile. I found similar problems in the bathroom of my room. The tile in the bathroom had significant cracks that seemed to be due to shifting of the underlayment. There was also some missing paint on the ceiling in my room that appeared to have come from condensation leaking from the air conditioner in the room above mine.
This is not one of the best Holiday Inn Express hotels I've stayed in, but at the time of my stay here it was $50 cheaper than Hampton Inn, and it's probably still better than most hotels in town.
Very attentive staff. Nice updated rooms. Microwave and refrigerator included in the rooms.
I highly don't recommend anyone to stay at this hotel! The manager and employees cannot keep their word as they promised to. The facility was terrible! You would think this could be a home away from home, but it is more like a concrete room.
HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE with the Holiday Inn Express in Stephenville. Cockroaches in the room, the elevator out of order (we were on the 3rd floor), the breakfast area has plastic hanging from the ceiling because of the renovation, the pool was not heated and was too cold to swim in, and the stairwells smelled like a gymnasium. The front desk told my daughter that pest control was sprayed two weeks prior to their arrival, but the stairwells still had bug catchers on the floor. The only good thing was when they demanded to leave after only one night, the manager allowed them to leave without any hassle. Have stayed many times previous at Holiday Inn Express with good results, but this was not one of them.
They were, however, working diligently to correct the problems, and other than this, the quality of the hotel and staff was up to Holiday Inn Express's usual high standards.
Clean hotel, nice service. Breakfast wasn't anything to rave over but the kids loved it.
