My wife got the apple pie. I had a bite and it was also very good. Nether of us could finish our desserts and took at least half of it in a to go box.
We both ordered dessert. I got the peach cobbler, which was amazing! It was not overly sweet and had a bread pudding-like consistency with just a light crust that complimented the peaches nicely.
My wife ordered the steak fingers and chose macaroni and cheese and French fries as her sides. It was served with Texas toast. She doesn't like gravy and asked them to hold that, but it's normally included. She enjoyed the meal and said the mac and cheese tasted like that made by her grandmother when she was little, a fond memory.
We stopped at Floyd's while on a road trip. This hometown cafe is obviously a favorite with the locals. But only twelve minutes off I-20, Floyd's Cafe should be a traveler's favorite too. This is the kind of place that Linda Ronstadt sang about where a hamburger sizzles on an open grill. Very simple all-American comfort food with large portions and down home flavor. The owners and staff are friendly and welcoming. The service was excellent.
You know when you walk in the door you've made a good decision: friendly staff and a nice, clean atmosphere. I recommend the pinto beans, cooked slowly in a pot the old fashioned way, alongside a thick hunk of home made meat loaf that reminds me of my mom's recipe. Don't skip dessert; they offer a variety of treats including chocolate cake and fresh fruit cobblers in season. They only use USDA Choice meats, so the hamburgers are healthy, juicy and tasty. One more thing: try the newer side dish "Buzzi Bites" because they're delicious.
Damn good place to eat!!! Have not had a bad meal there!!! The steaks are great!!!! I hear the meatloaf is great too . I have not had that yet. The owner's are good people too they always come and visit at table and make sure everything was good.
We visited on a Thursday, when the burger baskets are on special. So I ordered the Mushroom Swiss Burger with onion rings. This is a good old fashioned, hot-off-the-grill enormous 1/2 lb beef patty smothered in Swiss cheese, mushrooms and grilled onions. Served on a bun of course with your choice of mustard or mayo. Fabulous! The onion rings were good, but I couldn't finish them all and still save room for dessert.
We added Floyd's Cafe to our favorites in our GPS so that we can be sure to return whenever we're in the area. I would especially like to come back at dinner time to try their grilled steak. Something to look forward to another time.
There is always someone there waiting to welcome u in as soon as u walk in and there is bells on the door so I don't understand why people are posting they didn't get waited on.. Best place to eat at!!!! I will be back!!!!
The prices were extremely reasonable, especially considering the generous portions.
Great food. Our steaks were cooked the way we requested, tasted great and tender. Great people. Fast friendly service. You really should try this place.
