VERY UNORGANIZED! I can't express that enough. And in addition most people DON'T KNOW WHAT THEY'RE DOING in administration and registrar.
Tarleton will always hold a special place in my heart. I was the kid that couldn’t afford to go to college and I wasn’t in the top ten percent of my class. I went to hair school before college. I worked my butt off and Tarleton always worked with and for me. I cheered 3 years at TSU (two years in undergrad and one year of my masters). These will always be the best days of my life! I received an amazing education along with memories that will last a lifetime! Bleed Purple
Overall, practice what you preach. If you very heavily claim you're a family oriented school but you're really not, don't say that just so you get more students and money. Its wrong.
In addition to having to battle them for the entire summer and just barely managing to squeeze into the Fall Semester, I felt very ridiculed and discriminated against because I had to push back on them. For example, I went in person to ask for a Q-Drop for one of my courses I was taking (because me and my determined self I thought I could do it but I simply couldn't) and they tried to push me out the door saying that I could do it online. Of course I know I can do it online but at least I took the time out of my day to go in person and ask you which leads me to another point: They simply do not like dealing with people on a day to day basis. That's how I feel at least.
The only thing that's keeping me from giving it a zero is the fact that I can't do that and the fact that there are some nice people, but you have to fit in certain niches in order to go here.
If you don't know, don't work in a position like that. Simple as that. I'm glad that I'm leaving after this semester because I have a very low tolerance for idiots. This place is crawling with them.
I had to quite literally BATTLE them FOR THE ENTIRE SUMMER just to re-enroll because they wanted to put charges against me which didn't apply to me and simply they didn't understand what I was saying to them.
And if you don't know what you're doing or don't want to deal with people, well then you shouldn't have applied for a job in registrar or administration right?
Amazing school.... I'm what's considered a distance learner here at the satellite campus in Waco Tx... I completed my bachelor's in criminal justice in August 2011 I enjoyed the curriculum so much & my instructors that I have returned to complete my master's degree here as well set to graduate December 2017... for those students who say they didn't or haven't had a pleasant experience I do not possibly understand why, the staff is always helpful & if not ask for a supervisor....education at a university level isn't handed to you it is a must that one grasp a understanding of their learning environment & set realistic goals! The Tour was garbo all we did was window shop the recreational center like a retard. The only thing interesting was the squirrels.
